| FLYWHEELERS CAR CLUB & CH3OH RACING & MARKETING CO. Welcomes you to our new web sight. We are the Flywheelers Car Club was established in 1956 out of south Minneapolis MN. We do not promote or condone street racing of any kind! If you feel the need for speed there is a Safe & Appropriate place for it! It's on the "Race Track". Play Hard, Play Safe, and live to enjoy it again tomorrow! Over the summer of 2008 our club started a youth program called the "Junior Flywheelers". It is our goal to help keep interested high school kids away from drugs and street gangs by giving them something positive and exciting to do with there time. Our program Is designed to teach these youths the design and engineering skills used to construct "Safe" 1/4 mile nostalgia drag racing cars & true nostalgia hot rods. Our latest shop project is a 1930 Chevrolet competition sedan. This car will run in the 8.60 second heads up racing. Conventional left side driver location & functioning doors. Using a .400 Pro Tree. We will be showing the kids how to design and build the chassis, make all the suspension brackets & linkage components, all from what looks like just a pile of steel tubing and metal plates. The kids will learn how to build the; Engine, Transmission, Setup the rear differential gears. They will learn how to Chop & Channel the body of the 1930 Chevrolet to give it that sleek low slung racing stance. They will also learn how to tin out the interior in aluminum, Cut & install the Lexan windows, Paint the chassis & body. After the car is finished we'll load it up and head out to the local drag strip, where we will show them how to tune the car. |
